We continue to work hard raising the funds to build Alexandra House of Joy and fulfil our vision of a purpose-built community for adults with learning disabilities aged 19 years and upwards.
Our total at present stands at £878,289, which is so encouraging! We have only been able to do this through the incredible support of our faithful friends and followers.
Regular Craft Stalls
Our Banbury Market Stall continues to do very well. Over the past seven months, the fantastic sum of £11,575 has been raised! We are also delighted to announce that we now have a craft stall in the Bicester Crafters Emporium, selling goods made by a team of very generous and lovely ladies.
Special Events
In November, Dr Darragh Ennis (from The Chase) ran his third Celebrity Quiz Evening to a full-to-capacity house! With questions by Chris Curtis and scoring by Vince O’Connor, the evening raised an amazing £2,074.
Also in November 2023, the Lower Heyford Sports & Social Club and The Barley Mow Pub held a surprise quiz and raised £175. We are so grateful to groups who run events on our behalf.
Ongoing Civic Support
Les Sibley was re-elected as Chair of Cherwell District Council for 2023-2024 and has confirmed he will continue to raise funds for us during his second year in office. He is a true champion of our Charity.
Ian and I would like to say an immense thank you for your continued kindness and belief in this God-given Vision. Raising the building funds remains a difficult journey, but we remain positive and committed. We are profusely grateful; we couldn’t do this without you.
With much gratitude, Ian and Rachael Scott-Hunter
