During the Cherwell District Council AGM on May 17th 2023, Cllr Les Sibley presented Ian and Rachael with a cheque for £10,600 – the total raised during his year as Chair of the Council (2022-2023).
Throughout his term, Cllr Sibley held various fundraising functions to support the goal of building Alexandra House of Joy and purchasing necessary computer equipment. A major highlight of his campaign was the ‘Buy a Brick’ appeal, which alone raised almost £4,000.
In a wonderful show of continued support, Councillor Sibley also confirmed Alexandra House of Joy as his elected charity for a second consecutive term (2023-2024).
“Cllr Sibley has been an incredible ambassador for us. Having someone truly believe in our vision and mission, and who actively seeks to support our mammoth fundraising target, is enormously encouraging.” - Rachael Scott-Hunter, Chair and Founder
We are grateful to Cllr Sibley and all of our supporters for their ongoing dedication. This milestone was proudly covered by the Bicester Advertiser, This is Oxfordshire, and Yahoo! News.
